The Lurefans CC50 Cunning Cub is a compact fast sinking crankbait designed for quick depth control, stable casting and aggressive searching. Built as an evolved version of the proven CC series, it offers a smaller body profile, silent presentation and strong hook-up power for freshwater predators.
Product Description:
The Lurefans CC50 Cunning Cub is a 50mm, 8.4g fast sinking hardbody lure designed for anglers who need a compact lure with serious fishing power. Developed from the combat-tested CC60 platform, the CC50 keeps the strong practical performance of the original series while offering a smaller, more refined body for tighter water and more pressured fish.
Its low-centre-gravity design improves casting stability, allowing the lure to fly smoothly and accurately even in challenging conditions. Once in the water, the CC50 sinks quickly, helping anglers reach deeper pools, current lines, drop-offs and fish holding below the surface.
The silent fast sinking design is ideal when fish are wary of loud rattles or when fishing clear water, cold water or heavily pressured locations. During the sink, the CC50 produces a subtle trembling fall, and it can be worked at different depths depending on the sink time before retrieve.
The CC50 is built for fast, active searching, but it also performs well with slower bottom-contact retrieves in deeper water. It is especially useful when fish are holding in current, behind rocks, along submerged timber or near deep creek edges.
Australian Fishing Applications:
For Australian conditions, the CC50 is well suited to creeks, rivers, streams, upland pools, reservoirs, lake edges and rocky freshwater systems.
It is a strong option for Australian bass in narrow creeks, trout in clear streams, redfin around lake edges, golden perch in deeper pools, sooty grunter in northern rivers and estuary perch in brackish upper-estuary water.
The compact profile also makes it useful when fish are feeding on small baitfish, shrimp, insects or juvenile freshwater prey.
Best Conditions:
Clear to lightly stained water
Creeks, rivers and rocky pools
Fast current and narrow water
Deep holes over 10 metres where a fast sink is useful
Cold water or pressured fish situations
Submerged timber, rock bars and undercut banks
Early morning, late afternoon and shaded water
When fish are holding deep but still reacting to crankbait movement
Recommended Retrieve:
For shallow water, begin retrieving soon after the lure lands. Use a steady wind with short upward rod lifts to make the lure swim, rise and fall through the upper water column.
For deeper water, let the CC50 sink to the desired depth before starting the retrieve. Use a slow roll, lift-and-drop retrieve or intermittent pauses to allow the lure to sink between movements.
In deep pools, allow the lure to touch bottom, then retrieve slowly so it maintains swimming action close to structure. In current, cast slightly upstream or across the flow and let the lure sink into the strike zone before working it back with controlled rod movement.
