There’s something about fishing that keeps us coming back: learning a new stretch of water, figuring out what the fish are feeding on, or watching a surface lure come to life with a change of retrieve. That curiosity and enjoyment of time outdoors sit at the heart of Wild Current.
They’re also what draws us to Malosi. Built from brothers Jon and Niko’s love of fishing and art, the brand puts thoughtful design and care into the gear anglers take onto the water. It’s an approach we value: understanding how equipment works, paying attention to the details and making each session an opportunity to learn.
That’s why we’re pleased to welcome Malosi to Wild Current as an authorised retailer. Our selected range brings together premium timber stickbaits, versatile ABS hardbodies, compact light-tackle lures and casting metals.
A shared passion, expressed in different ways
Malosi’s story began with timber lure prototypes made in Jon’s spare bedroom. The brothers formally founded the brand in 2020, then spent almost two years developing a new production process, reworking designs and exploring materials.
That willingness to keep refining an idea resonates with us. A lure’s shape, balance and construction all deserve consideration, alongside the way an angler intends to fish it. Malosi’s focus on design gives us plenty to talk about with customers who want to understand their gear.
At Wild Current, our part is helping you make that connection. We believe quality outdoor equipment should be accessible, with fair prices and practical advice that helps you choose confidently. Whether you’re buying your first hardbody or adding a different presentation to an established outfit, we want you to understand why a lure might suit your fishing.
We see common ground in a love of fishing, respect for well-made gear and the enjoyment of getting outdoors. Malosi brings its creative approach to lure making; we bring a place to explore that range, ask questions and find something suited to your next session.
Meet the Malosi lure series in our range
The range offers different ways to fish, from a small walking pencil across shallow water to a sinking stickbait below a bait school. Here are the series we’ve selected for Wild Current.
Master Series: Malosi’s timber-lure heritage
The Master Series carries Malosi’s timber-lure heritage forward, combining a solid paulownia timber core with a protective hard resin shell.
Our selection includes the Malosi Chieftain 150F floating stickbait and the Rogue 90S and Rogue 105S sinking stickbaits.
The Chieftain offers a floating presentation, while the compact Rogue models are designed for long casts and fishing below the surface. Start with the presentation you need, then match the lure’s size and weight to your outfit and the baitfish you’re trying to imitate.
Staple Series: thoughtful design across five presentations
The Staple Series uses ABS construction, welded stainless steel through-wire and BKK hooks. We stock selected models across all five designs:
- Floating stickbaits: the Staple Chieftain 150F and 190F for anglers who want a floating stickbait presentation.
- Sinking stickbaits: the Staple Rogue 85S and 100S for compact profiles and long casts.
- Floating minnows: the Staple Hero 100F and 120F for a diving minnow presentation.
- Surface popper: the Staple Tyrant 120P when you want to create disturbance on top.
- Diving popper: the Staple Talo 120P for a different popper presentation that works beneath the surface.
This range gives you several ways to change presentation without simply moving to a larger lure.
Micro Series: the enjoyment of light-tackle fishing
Malosi’s Micro Series brings minnows, walking pencils and poppers into smaller formats for fishing flats, shallow reefs and estuary water.
The Minion 80F is a shallow-running minnow. It’s the option to consider when you want to work a small hardbody below the surface.
The Echo 80F is a floating walking pencil. Its “walk-the-dog” action means it moves from side to side across the surface.
For a cupped-face surface lure, explore the Atom 60P and Atom 75P. These compact poppers can produce anything from subtle gloops to sharper splashes.
Marksman Series: room to experiment with your retrieve
The Malosi Marksman metal lure is designed for long casts and offers several ways to fish: a fast retrieve, rod sweeps, jigging or a controlled sink.
It’s a useful series to explore when casting distance matters or you want to search below the surface. Choose a weight within your rod’s casting rating, then adjust the retrieve to the depth and activity of the fish. Our product page lists the weights and colours in the range, with current availability shown for each option.
More to explore, together
Welcoming Malosi is a chance to share a brand whose approach to fishing and design connects with our own. We’re looking forward to helping anglers get to know the range and understand what each presentation can offer.
If you’re unsure where to begin, tell us where you fish, what you target and which rod you use. We can help you compare the options and choose a lure that fits the way you enjoy fishing.
